Sharyn Divine is a performing artist who is really skilled in swinging with chains wrapped around her. I met her while I was photographing a pole dance camp, in which she was coaching. I learned she also poses as mermaid from time to time, and I've been interested in capturing mermaid performers ever since watching the Netflix documentary series "MerPeople," so we planned a shoot together at El Matador State Beach. It was bit challenging because the waves were heavy and I was just as much out on the water as Sharyn was while putting my camera at risk. It was a daring shoot. It payed off because we got great shots out of it. I also appreciate Sharyn for taking the time out of her busy schedule to do this shoot with me.
